Hot water is really a miracle. First someone has to find enough water. And get it out of the ground or river.
And then make it clean enough to drink.
And then get it to my building. (Yes, water pipes can really be this big. How cool is that?)
At the same time, someone finds the energy (gas in my case) and gets it out of the ground.
And gets it to my building, in my city, to my very apartment.
Where it heats the water in a technological marvel called a water heater that controls itself, lasts for years, and doesn't blow up. Very often.
And then through my pipes to my showerhead. Every day of the year, especially on cold mornings!
And for pennies.
