The Camera with Nine Lives

Five years ago, when our first granddaughter was born, we got a digital camera.

It has documented our lives ever since.

Here is an actual picture of the camera.
You can tell it is real because the writing is backwards.

At scout camp in June, it went into the river, along with the rest of me, when I lost traction on a mossy rock at this swimming hole.
(Other than that, we had a nice swim.)

Miraculously, it came back to life.

But, really, how any times can you tempt fate?  Cameras aren't like cats, with nine lives.  Or are they?

On Saturday, I jumped into the Susquehanna River with the camera in the pocket of my swimsuit...

Doh!

It is now buried in a nice bag of rice.
Started with Basmati, but switched to Jasmine rice.
So delicious. If the camera doesn't come back, at least I have the rice.

But if the camera DOES survive this disaster, I'm going to call it Kitty.

Wish me and my camera luck.

Many Much Moosen

Family reunion at Bear Lake last week.

We did not see any bears.

But apparently, the cabin we rented was on the moose superhighway.

We saw this mama and baby one night, followed by a young male.

The next night, Mama and baby came in for a closer look...

... and a snack of young trees.

We were shooting family photos and Mama almost came down to join this grouping. She stopped when she was informed she did not have the required LSU t-shirt...

Many much moosen in the woodsen.

We managed to get some good portraits anyway.
